This was such a fun challenge to take part in. Hosted by John Mutford at The Book Mine Set , the goal was to read thirteen books from Canadian authors or set in Canada before July 1. I chose to read one from each of the thirteen provinces. Here's my results:
British Columbia - Airborn by Kenneth Oppel, Rated 4.25
New Brunswick - Mercy Among the Children by David Adam Richards, Rated 4.25
Alberta - Salamander by Thomas Wharton, Rated 4.25
Yukon Territory - I Married the Klondike by Laura Beatrice Berton, Rated 4.5
Quebec - Shadows on the Rock by Willa Cather, Rated 4
Saskachewan - A Student of Weather by Elizabeth Hat, Rated 4
Northwest Territory - Northern Lights: The Soccer Trail by Michael Kusugak, Rated 4.5
Nova Scotia - Birds in Fall by Brad Kessler, Rated 4.5
Nunavat - The White Dawn by James Houston, Rated 3.75
Ontario - Crow Lake by Mary Lawson, Rated 4.25
Manitoba - Bachelor Brothers Bed and Breakfast Pillow Book by Bill Richardson, Rated 4.75
Newfoundland - Latitude of Melt by Joan Clark, Rated 4
Prince Edward Island - The Story Girl by Lucy Maud Montgomery, Rated 5
Looking back, I feel like some of these books were rated a little too high (particularly The White Dawn); but, overall, I enjoyed the reading. I loved The Story Girl and would like to reread Salamander and Bachelor Brothers. In fact, I plan on reading another Bachelor Brothers book for John's next Canadian challenge which starts in July. I joined up except I haven't made a list yet. I probably won't do it by province again. Northwest Territory was so hard to find. But I have a number of Candian books I want to read. Plus John has so many great suggestions on his blog. He really worked hard on this challenge and I enjoyed the books and reading comments and suggestions from other readers.

Wow, congrats on finishing! This is a challenge that I'd like to do someday, but unfortunately my personal library doesn't have a lot of Canadian authors outside of Atwood. Shame on me (for being half Canadian!). :) Looks like some great reads...I'll have to star this post for ideas later.
LOVE Airborn.
Congrats on finishing up. I don't think I'm going to finish. I recommend Far North for next years challenge. It so happens to be from the Northwest Territories.
The Bachelor Bros books are so good. Congrats on finishing the challenge!
The Story Girl is fantastic isn't it? If you haven't read it you must read The Golden Road as well.
I haven't read either of them in years and now I'm itching to re-read them.
